The long awaited debate may have finally come to fruition. Must calories IN equal calories OUT in order to maintain weight?
Well….come to find out it’s not quite that easy to distinguish. A few recent studies have been published that have some interesting data. One can draw their own conclusions as to how far they want to analyze or overanalyze the study.
So you may or may not be hearing a whole lot more these days about the Pale buzzword “lectins“. It’s an actual term not coined by the Paleo crew but by the biology and scientist communities that is just now catching steam in the medical and national realms.
So if you’ve read my earlier post about why wheat is bad for us I may have briefly mentioned lectins and their role as a survival mechanism for most plants. In case I didn’t here a brief rundown of what lectins are.
What’s wrong with whole grain? I get that question more often than not from people injuring about my eating habits and optimum health journey. The problem with grains is really the problem with ANY food known to man…it’s “bad for you…right?
Eggs were good for you and then they were bad for you and now I think they’ve moved back into the good category…but only if they cost $5 a dozen! Here again we embark on a topic that you must choose to digest on your own…PUN INTENDED!!
Well I’d be crazy if I told you the transition from “traditional” american food to Paleo was easy but it was probably easier for me than others I’d say. Mainly because I’m not a big bread eater to begin with. Anytime before I ate a sandwich or a biscuit I’d eat minimal amounts. Bread wasn’t something I really craved or missed all that much.
I had several reasons I didn’t want to take them.
I was way too young to be taking meds like that. I had friends already on blood pressure medications and I didn’t want to be the next casualty of health.
Well this is my first real official post. As I said before I’m going to be talking about my health and fitness journey. I’m 39 years old now so i won’t go too far back in time. In fact, I won’t even go back more than 10 years. Let’s start when I was about 31 years old…..
